Companionship and Senior Services

You Have a Friend in Me

I offer friendship and companionship to seniors  in the Kawartha Lakes Region.
One of my strongest skills that I have learned over time is that I am able to be outgoing and fun but I have also learned that just “holding quiet space “ with someone is equally as comforting.  We are all different and we all have days that  we are in need of different comfort. It’s the Ebb and Flow of life ❤️
I enjoy getting to know my clients and focus on making sure their needs are met.  Typically , care is tailored to what is needed by the client and family.
I am able to come and visit - play some games , spend a sunny day in the park , have tea , chit chat , go for a walk, crafts , watch a show , help letter write …..basically whatever they have on their mind at the time.
While I visit,  I am also happy to run errands with or without the client. It’s always a joy to have outings together but I am also happy to do what is needed and return back to the home.
I am also a good helper and listener to take along to various appointments if needed.
I am able to visit in the clients home , their retirement home , long term care home or hospital.
I understand how hard it can be to keep a home running smoothly 😊 I am here to help with laundry , dishes , meal prep and light organizational needs.
I hope you have found this explanatory and helpful. If you do have other needs or requests not mentioned above , Please don’t hesitate to ask me. I would love to discuss them with you.

”Empathy is a strange and powerful thing. There is no script. There is no right way or wrong way to do it. It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of “You’re not alone.”

Where It Began

Kindness. Compassion. Comfort.

When deciding to embark on this “working outside “ of the home journey, I knew I wanted to focus on a mission that had been close to my heart for quite some time.
I want to make a difference in others lives leaving a footprint of kindness and being of service to others needing that extra hand of help.
And so the journey began.
**I have received a certificate in 911 Communications from Durham College.
**I am currently enrolled in a certificate study of Dementia Care from Conestoga College.
** I am currently enrolled in the End of Life Doula  certification program at Douglas College. I graduate in the Fall of 2023 and plan to expand services in this area of care. Palliative / Hospice Care is something I hold close to my heart and enjoy working in the field.

**I am triple vaccinated and Emergency First Aid and CPR certified.
And last but not least , I have completed and received a clear vulnerable persons and criminal police background check from the OPP Police Services. Available upon Request.
